Email login flow
Enter your email address
Type the email address you want to use. BM.XYZ passes it to Privy to initiate authentication — your email is not stored by the exchange itself.
Enter the one-time passcode (OTP)
Check your inbox for a passcode from Privy. Enter it in the prompt. If you don’t see it within 60 seconds, check your spam folder or request a new code.
Embedded wallet behavior
| Topic | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Custody | Embedded wallet keys are managed by Privy; export options follow Privy’s key management policy |
| Same features | Spot trading, perpetuals, portfolio view, and leaderboard all work identically to extension wallets |
| Onchain address | You receive a standard BM Chain address, visible in your Portfolio and in block explorers |
Email vs. extension wallet — when to use each
- Use Email if…
- Use an Extension Wallet if…
- You want the fastest possible first-time setup with no extension to install
- You are on mobile and don’t have a standalone wallet app configured
- You are running a quick testnet demo and want to get to the trade screen immediately
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| OTP not received | Check your spam folder; wait 60 seconds; then click Resend code to request a new OTP |
| Session expired | Log in again with your email and re-run Enable Trading if prompted |
| Want to switch to MetaMask later | Connect MetaMask through the standard wallet flow — it creates a separate address; accounts are not linked automatically |
Email login availability on mainnet may differ based on compliance review. This page documents the testnet implementation only.
